Melody Cook, Association Manager
Melody is from Wisconsin, but lived in the southern West Virginia/Virginia area for 20 years before moving to the panhandle of Florida, where she met her husband Tim.  They moved to the Atlantic side in 2004 working together on ocean front properties. Melody managed an ocean front high rise on Singer Island for six years before moving back to the gulf coast to work for Lighthouse Property Management. She came to manage here in 2015 with over 15 years of on-site experience as an Association Manager, an Associates Degree in Accounting and over 25 years’ experience in customer service, budgeting and project management.

Peggy Messmer, Rental Agent

 

Peggy brings over 15 years of hospitality industry experience in operations and sales.  A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, she has spent the past 38 years in the St. Louis, MO area.  Now permanently relocated to Venice, FL she enjoys nature, walking and discovering the Sarasota area

Sherry Best, Office Assistant 

 Sherry was born and raised right here in Florida. Her previous work experience includes: 2 years as a supervisor and 6 months as a Correctional Officer.  She spends her free time working on and racing stock cars with her family. 

Marcia Robbins, Seasonal Office Assistant

Marcia has been with Sarasota Lakes since January, 2014 as our seasonal office assistant. She loves distributing the mail. Her previous work experience includes 6 years as a 911 police dispatcher, and 20 years as litigation paralegal. She holds an AA degree in paralegal studies from MacCormac College and a BA degree in English from Loyola University Chicago. We are fortunate to have such a versatile employee. 

Jacob "Jake" Bruns, Skilled Maintenance

Jake is our skilled maintenance man.   Originally from Ohio, Jake moved to Sarasota four years ago with his wife and ten year old son.  Prior to working here Jake worked at Sun-N-Fun doing electrical, plumbing, and sewer tasks along with general park maintenance.   Jake has a lot of experience in RV parks and with RVs, especially since he lives in an RV himself.   He handles electrical, plumbing and maintenance issues for us.

Curtis Williams, Grounds Maintenance

Curtis was born here in Sarasota, Florida.  He has worked at Sarasota Lakes for 11 years and continues to love it. He is responsible for maintaining the grounds, mowing the common area and picking up landscaping debris. He works as a team with Jake.
